About the Author
Dr Jacob Segale, a distinguished expert in public health, human rights, and sustainable development, hails from Tlaseng Village, just outside Rustenburg. His educational journey began at Tlaseng Primary School, but midway through the year, he relocated to Hartebeesfontein (Lethabong), where he attended Barelwanedi Primary School and later Rethusegile Secondary School. It was at Barelwanedi Primary that his passion for art and drama flourished, eventually leading him to join EduPlay Art Production.
Dr Segale’s professional achievements are as remarkable as his early artistic inclinations. He holds a PhD in Developmental Studies with a specialisation in Human Rights and has earned multiple master’s degrees and postgraduate diplomas from prestigious institutions in the UK and Zambia.
Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles in national and regional organisations, spearheading impactful HIV/AIDS, TB, and human rights programmes across 18 countries in Southern and East Africa. A passionate advocate for marginalised and underserved communities, Dr Segale blends rigorous research with strategic innovation to drive transformative change across the continent.
